The QuickTrace® M-8000 Cold Vapor Atomic Fluorescence (CVAF) mercury analyzer is ideal for ultra-trace to sub-mg/L mercury quantitation. Due to the high sensitivity of the M-8000, it easily achieves the ultra-trace detection limit of <0.05 ng/L total mercury that is demanded by customers following EPA method 1631. The QuickTrace® M-8000 is also versatile enough to analyze samples >400 µg/L without dilution in a research or industrial setting.
The QuickTrace® M-8000 mercury analyzer supports three software selected modes of operation (without hardware or tubing configuration changes) to quickly match your analytical requirements. When a method is selected in the software, the instrument switches between ultra-trace analysis and low mg/L analysis, saving method configuration time and eliminating costly mistakes.
Modes include:
- Mode 1: Cold Vapor Atomic Fluorescence Spectroscopy (CVAFS)
- Mode 2: Cold Vapor Atomic Fluorescence Spectroscopy Single Gold Trap Amalgamation (CVAFS-SGTA)
- Mode 3: Cold Vapor Atomic Fluorescence Spectroscopy Double Gold Trap Amalgamation (CVAFS-DGTA)
An exceptionally stable and reliable fluorescence analyzer, the QuickTrace® M-8000 is based on the time-tested CVAF technique. The system is controlled by the Windows®-based, QuickTrace Software, which was designed for efficient method configuration, sequence creation, reporting of results and multi-tasking.
Additionally, cost-saving features such as shut down of the flowing rinse and slowing of the SnCl2 flow during gold trap desorption, result in saving thousands of dollars per year in reduced reagent and waste costs.
For ultra-trace analysis, Teledyne Leeman Labs recommends the addition of our autosampler enclosure to protect the samples from contamination (such as dust particles) that could possibly lead to errors in determination. Additionally the autosampler enclosure also protects your investment from harsh acid gases which are normally present in and around digested samples.

Where the mercury analyzer is used in Thailand
Based on the specifications above, the M-8000 suits laboratories that
- Need ultra-trace total mercury results at a detection limit below 0.05 ng/L (ppt) for work under EPA Method 1631
- Work with research or industrial samples above 400 µg/L and would rather run them without diluting first
- Want to switch between ultra-trace and low mg/L methods from the software alone, with no hardware or tubing changes
- Want to use less reagent and create less waste, because the rinse flow stops and the SnCl2 flow slows while the gold trap desorbs
Service and support in Thailand

- Sample testing and method verification — we run your real samples and verify the method before you commit
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to change the M-8000’s hardware to move between ultra-trace and higher-concentration methods?
No. You pick one of its three modes (CVAFS, single gold trap amalgamation or double gold trap amalgamation) in the software, with no hardware or tubing changes; to choose the right mode for your samples, talk to our team at Thai Unique.
Why buy Teledyne QuickTrace M‑8000 from Thai Unique rather than direct from the manufacturer?
Because the people who look after it are here. Installation, calibration, scheduled maintenance, repairs with genuine parts and operator training are all handled by our team in Thailand, without routing every request overseas.
Can we test our own samples before deciding?
Yes. Our sample testing and method verification service runs your real samples so you can see the results this mercury analyzer gives on your workload before you buy.
How much does it cost, and how do we request a quotation?
Pricing depends on the configuration, accessories and the scope of work in your laboratory. Tell our sales team what you need to analyse and how many samples you run per day, and we will propose a configuration together with lead time and service terms.
