The SP Genevac EZ-2 4.0 is a centrifugal evaporator for drying or concentrating many samples at once. It is designed to sit on a bench or inside a fume hood, and suits any workflow where solvent has to be removed from a large batch of samples in a single run.
What sets it apart
- Dri-Pure anti-bumping sample protection — prevents samples from bumping out of their tubes and prevents cross-contamination, the single most common reason a batch has to be re-run.
- Automatic end-of-run detection — the system stops itself once samples are dry or at the set concentration, so nobody has to watch it.
- Sample temperature control, not merely a chamber temperature setpoint.
- Touchscreen with preset methods — usable without specialist training: load the samples, set the temperature, select a method and press start.
- Front-mounted SpeedTrap solvent jar, easy to see the level and easy to remove and replace.
- Compatible with common organic solvents and acids.
Three models, chosen by solvent boiling point
| Model | Suited to | Pump system |
|---|---|---|
| EZ-2 Standard | Volatile solvents boiling up to 120 °C | Oil-free diaphragm pump with PTFE diaphragms and connections, resistant to aggressive solvents |
| EZ-2 Plus | Higher boiling solvents up to 165 °C, including water, HPLC fractions and nitric acid | Oil-free diaphragm pump with a more powerful pump and chamber heating system |
| EZ-2 Elite | Solvents boiling above 165 °C such as DMSO and NMP | External dry scroll pump for a deeper vacuum, with an automatic defrosting and draining condenser that aids solvent recovery and fast lyophilization of HPLC fractions |
Options for specific work
- HCl-resistant option — for hydrochloric acid and acid chlorides, with key components in Hastelloy, glass or PTFE. Available on all models.
- Inert Gas Purge (IGP) and Inert Gas Blanket (IGB) — flushes air out of the system and replaces it with nitrogen or argon, for flammable solvents such as diethyl ether and pentane, and keeps samples under an inert blanket after the run. Available on all models.
- EXALT — evaporates a range of solvents simultaneously at the same slow, controlled rate over a defined period, for crystallization studies and polymorph screening.

Where a centrifugal vacuum evaporator is used in Thailand
Based on the specifications above, the EZ-2 4.0 suits laboratories that:
- Need to dry or concentrate many samples at once instead of working through them flask by flask, with the run ending itself once the samples reach dryness or the set concentration.
- Work with solvents across a wide boiling range — volatile solvents up to 120 °C, water, HPLC fractions and nitric acid up to 165 °C, or DMSO and NMP above that.
- Want to keep the temperature of the sample itself under control and stop samples bumping out of their tubes or cross-contaminating, the usual reason a batch has to be repeated.
- Need to handle hydrochloric acid and acid chlorides, run flammable solvents such as diethyl ether and pentane under nitrogen or argon, or evaporate several solvents at one slow controlled rate for crystallisation and polymorph screening.
Service and support in Thailand

Frequently asked questions
How do I know which of the three EZ-2 4.0 models is right for my solvents?
The choice follows the boiling point of what you evaporate: Standard for volatile solvents up to 120 °C, Plus for higher boilers up to 165 °C including water, HPLC fractions and nitric acid, and Elite with an external dry scroll pump for solvents above that such as DMSO and NMP. Send your solvent list to our local team and we will confirm the model and whether the HCl-resistant or inert gas options apply.
Why buy SP Genevac EZ-2 4.0 from Thai Unique rather than direct from the manufacturer?
Because the people who look after it are here. Installation, calibration, scheduled maintenance, repairs with genuine parts and operator training are all handled by our team in Thailand, without routing every request overseas.
Can we test our own samples before deciding?
Yes. Our sample testing and method verification service runs your real samples so you can see the results this centrifugal vacuum evaporator gives on your workload before you buy.
How much does it cost, and how do we request a quotation?
Pricing depends on the configuration, accessories and the scope of work in your laboratory. Tell our sales team what you need to analyse and how many samples you run per day, and we will propose a configuration together with lead time and service terms.
