The SP Genevac HT Series 3i is a centrifugal evaporator for laboratories that need to dry or concentrate a large number of samples per run. Two models are available — HT-6 and HT-12 — to suit different sample capacities. Both have an integral condenser, so the whole system takes up less fume-hood space than an equivalent with a separate condenser.
What sets it apart
- SampleGuard measures the real sample temperature — up to four thermocouples with a battery-powered wireless transmitter, so it works at all rotor speeds including LyoSpeed. One or two probes reliably determine end-of-run and let the system stop automatically, protecting samples from overheating once evaporation is complete and removing much of the method-development effort.
- Dri-Pure anti-bumping, fitted as standard — SP Genevac’s patented sample protection system prevents cross-contamination and sample loss due to bumping.
- Integral VC7000i condenser chilling to -75 °C with auto-defrost and drain, so mixtures of solvents with very different boiling points can be evaporated without spoiling the vacuum.
- LyoSpeed — dry powders from HPLC fractions. Fractions are automatically concentrated down to a few millilitres, then frozen and rapidly lyophilized into a diffuse dry powder that is easier to weigh and re-dissolve than a dried film. Methods are supplied for fractions containing water with acetonitrile, or methanol.
- eXALT for evaporative crystallization studies — a wide range of solvents can be evaporated at the same slow rate at the same time; DCM and toluene, for example, can be dried together. Evaporation time is controllable from 6 to 120 hours, or longer.
- Touchscreen control with preset methods. Select the solvent group and press start. User login personalizes method screens, data logging capacity is increased, and methods and system back-ups transfer over USB.
Options for aggressive solvents
- Inert Gas Purge (IGP) — mandatory when working with highly explosive solvents such as diethyl ether or pentane. The system flushes all air out before evaporation starts and replaces it with nitrogen or argon, and can keep sensitive samples under a gas blanket after the run until the operator removes them.
- HCl-resistant option — for hydrochloric acid and other acid chlorides, with key elements engineered in Hastelloy, glass or PTFE. It must be specified when ordering, as it cannot be retrofitted.
- Infinity Trolley — a modular trolley system; units can be joined side by side to create an HT-24 or HT-36 while minimising fume-hood footprint. The upper shelf holds the evaporator, the lower shelf the pump and waste containers.

Where the centrifugal evaporator is used in Thailand
Based on the specifications above, the HT Series 3i suits laboratories that:
- Need to dry or concentrate a high sample count per run, while keeping the footprint in the fume hood down because the condenser is built into the unit rather than sitting alongside it.
- Work with solvent mixtures whose boiling points sit far apart, where the integral VC7000i condenser chills to -75 °C with auto-defrost and drain so the vacuum is not spoiled part-way through.
- Want HPLC fractions to end up as a loose dry powder that is easy to weigh and re-dissolve, using LyoSpeed methods supplied for fractions in water with acetonitrile, or with methanol.
- Need the run to stop by itself once evaporation is finished — SampleGuard reads the real sample temperature through up to four wireless thermocouples, and Dri-Pure anti-bumping protection is fitted as standard.

Frequently asked questions
Can the HT Series 3i be used with highly flammable solvents or with hydrochloric acid?
Yes, with the correct options specified: Inert Gas Purge is mandatory for highly explosive solvents such as diethyl ether or pentane, and acid chlorides call for the HCl-resistant build in Hastelloy, glass and PTFE. That build cannot be retrofitted later, so talk to our team before the order is placed.
Why buy SP Genevac HT Series 3i from Thai Unique rather than direct from the manufacturer?
Because the people who look after it are here. Installation, calibration, scheduled maintenance, repairs with genuine parts and operator training are all handled by our team in Thailand, without routing every request overseas.
Can we test our own samples before deciding?
Yes. Our sample testing and method verification service runs your real samples so you can see the results this centrifugal evaporator gives on your workload before you buy.
How much does it cost, and how do we request a quotation?
Pricing depends on the configuration, accessories and the scope of work in your laboratory. Tell our sales team what you need to analyse and how many samples you run per day, and we will propose a configuration together with lead time and service terms.
