The SP Genevac EZ-2 4.0 Bionic is the latest addition to the EZ-2 4.0 benchtop evaporator range. Until now, all Genevac evaporators have relied on manual operation to open the lid, load samples, close the lid and select a method before pressing start. The Bionic automates the Elite model with HCl compatibility and Inert Gas Purge options, developed in partnership with a prominent pharmaceutical company.
Automation streamlines the most repetitive steps of sample preparation, reduces the risk of human error for consistent and reliable delivery of all sample runs, and is designed to allow 24/7 remote operation.
New in the Bionic
- Automated lid optimized for robotic operation — on standard models the lid is manually operated; the Bionic is equipped with software that automatically opens and closes it, with a wider opening that allows robotic loading and unloading.
- Indexed rotor — the AC motor in standard models spins freely for manual loading. The Bionic includes an indexed rotor programmed to stop at fixed positions for precision loading and unloading.
- New command set — automation controls operate the complete machine through the RS232 port: opening and closing the lid, starting and stopping the evaporator, defrosting and draining, selecting a method and more.
- Automation-friendly sample holders — redesigned to give a robot a secure grip for safe loading and unloading.
Carried over from the standard EZ-2
- Dri-Pure anti-bumping technology eliminates sample cross-contamination and sample loss, so many samples can be evaporated at once with confidence.
- Sample temperature control — temperature and pressure are controlled to protect samples throughout the evaporation process.
- Auto Stop — the software automatically detects when the run is complete.
- Auto Defrost & Drain — programmed into the method, so defrost and drain occur when required.
- High boiling point solvent compatibility — the Elite base handles all common solvents from volatiles to aqueous to DMSO and NMP.
- HCl compatible — able to evaporate samples containing concentrated HCl.
- IGP option — evaporates explosive solvents such as diethyl ether safely.
- High power lamp — improves evaporation rate and is user changeable to reduce service time.
