The SP Genevac EZ-2 4.0 is a centrifugal evaporator for drying or concentrating many samples at once. It is designed to sit on a bench or inside a fume hood, and suits any workflow where solvent has to be removed from a large batch of samples in a single run.
What sets it apart
- Dri-Pure anti-bumping sample protection — prevents samples from bumping out of their tubes and prevents cross-contamination, the single most common reason a batch has to be re-run.
- Automatic end-of-run detection — the system stops itself once samples are dry or at the set concentration, so nobody has to watch it.
- Sample temperature control, not merely a chamber temperature setpoint.
- Touchscreen with preset methods — usable without specialist training: load the samples, set the temperature, select a method and press start.
- Front-mounted SpeedTrap solvent jar, easy to see the level and easy to remove and replace.
- Compatible with common organic solvents and acids.

Options for specific work
- HCl-resistant option — for hydrochloric acid and acid chlorides, with key components in Hastelloy, glass or PTFE. Available on all models.
- Inert Gas Purge (IGP) and Inert Gas Blanket (IGB) — flushes air out of the system and replaces it with nitrogen or argon, for flammable solvents such as diethyl ether and pentane, and keeps samples under an inert blanket after the run. Available on all models.
- EXALT — evaporates a range of solvents simultaneously at the same slow, controlled rate over a defined period, for crystallization studies and polymorph screening.
